Schinkel House competition
Shinkenchiku Residential Design competition, 1979
Designed as John G Ellis
Schinkel was a major source of inspiration in the early Post Modern era and an Ideas Competition was held in 1979 judged by James Stirling to design a house in the spirit of his work.
The design proposed a plan with four major rooms arranged around a central rotunda. Each of the four rooms had a different architectural character.
The design made reference to work by Richard Meier in the diagrams, and to Leon Krier and fellow Rationalists in the facades.
