524 Howard Street, San Francisco CA

Designed as KMD architects, 1986

John Ellis Project Designer with Jeff Heller, David Hobstetter

An extremely narrow site on Howard Street was the opportunity for a tall highrise office building. It would have been the first highrise this far south of the Transbay Terminal. 40 years later it would have been lost amongst all the new towers built around the form,er Transbay Terminal. A feature of the design was a proposed swimming pool in the penthouse which would also stabilize the building sysmically.

In 2024 the site still remains empty awaiting development.
