535 Mission Street, San Francisco CA
Designed as KMD architects with Heller Manus, 1988
John Ellis Project Designer with Jeff Heller, David Hobstetter, Steve Semes
A design for a highrise office tower on Mission Street at a time when the centre of gravity for San Francisco’s Financial District moved south of Market Street to around the Transbay Terminal on Mission Street.
The design proposed a top shaft and base to conform with the city’s bulk controls for highrise buildings. The top has a pair of distinctive roof forms to give identity to the building amidst the emerging skyline.
