The Alameda Neighborhood Plan, San Jose CA

Designed as Solomon Architecture, 1997

John Ellis Urban Designer with Daniel Solomon

The Alameda is a section of the El Camino Real that extends from San Francisco south towards San Jose. The Neighborhood plan proposed infill development on vacant sites and transit-oriented development adjacent to the multi-modal Diridon Station.

In the twenty five years since the plan was implemented several hundred new dwellings have been built and The Alameda has revived as a lively retail street.
